The list of "senior detainees" is a term used to refer to detainees who spent more than 20 years in Israeli prisons, where the Commission stated today that the list has raised to (273) detainees after (23) new detainees joined during last August.
The Commission showed in its report that the list includes (83) detainees who served more than (25 years) in prison, and those are called generals of patience , in addition to (25) detainees who are imprisoned since before the Oslo Accord , and those ate from the fourth group of detainees who were supposed to be released under the American political negotiations in 2013.
The Commission pointed out that (17) detainees of this list have served more than (30 years) in prison, and those are called "symbols of detainees ". In addition, the list contains (8) detainees who served more than (35 years) , the oldest term goes for the detainee Kareem Younis and Maher Younis who are detained since 1983.
The Commission also said that there are (49) detainees who were released by the Shaleet bargain in 2011, but they got rearrested in 2014, such as the detainee Nael Barghouthi who spent more than (42 years) in prison.
Those numbers are unprecedented, and the list may raise in the coming weeks and months, which requires all Palestinian people to support those detainees and shed light on their cause and suffering.
